A Kalamazoo, Michigan native with strong roots in the community and an impeccable reputation, Dan Vander Roest is not your typical builder. His father, a carpenter as well, had Dan pushing wood through the table saw at the age of 10. With a strong passion for the trade, he went on to work for custom builders, DeVries & Onderlinde . For 20 loyal years, assuming the role of job foreman for 15 of those years, Dan was a critical and invaluable player in the successes of D&O. It was in those years that he mastered the art of his trade and worked tirelessly to exceed the expectations of his most particular clients.

Whether it was working on a small remodel or building one of many multimillion dollar lake properties, Dan's professionalism and meticulous attention to detail quickly gained him the respect of the homeowner. His high end trim work and custom built-ins are second to none, catching the eye of some of his esteemed colleagues. His award-winning work has been seen in local publishings.
